True Blood Season 4 More Details

As we approach the start of True Blood season 4 more details, pictures, promos and even a look at the first six minutes of the premiere have been released by HBO. So what do we know so far?

All is not well in the vampire community as they attempt to get what little human support they did have back, by launching a major PR campaign to try and erase the memory of the Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) rampage. This is led by Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck) and the American Vampire League, Tuck has been bumped to season regular so we should expect to see a lot more of Flanagan this year. A vampire family portrait of sorts has been released (see photo right, first shown on TV Line) showing our key vampires in all their fang glory and they all look pretty great. The issue of making humans accept vampires again isn't the only conflict that will be posing a problem to our fanged friends this year, and it is a more insidious and supernatural bunch that look to be causing the major issues.

This group is led by spiritual medium Marnie Stonebrook (Fiona Shaw- who you might recognise as Aunt Petunia Dursley from the Harry Potter films), who is a timid and secretly self loathing person but happens to have her body taken over by the spirit of a very powerful witch, who looks to cause havoc amongst the order of the supernatural. She is going to find a way to have control and power over vampires that has been hinted at in the promos, if she can control the dead then she can control vampires. It looks like Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) might be influencing Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) to join this group of witches and it is still unclear what Jesus's motives really are when it comes to Lafayette, can he be trusted? How powerful will Lafayette prove to be as he unlocks his new potential?

Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) still seems to be a place where she doesn't quite know who she is and despite reuniting with Hoyt (Jim Parrack) at the end of season 3, it looks like the road could be bumpy for my favourite human/vampire couple (sorry Sookie/Bill and Sookie/Eric fans). Jessica declares that "I can eat who I want" in the first promo below and in the second promo it looks like Jessica is feasting on someone who isn't Hoyt, which both demonstrates this point and probably won't help those vampire/human relations that the American Vampire League are trying to iron out. The tagline 'Show Your True Colors' is one that is being used for the season 4 campaign and this drinking blood from humans is something that is natural and 'true' to the vampire condition, will Jessica risk and ruin her relationship with Hoyt in doing this? Or as we have seen before will he be accepting of who Jessica actually is?

Sookie (Anna Paquin) still doesn't seem to be fairing all that well in these promos for season 4 of True Blood, with confrontations between her and Bill (Stephen Moyer), who in an about turn doesn't seem to trust Sookie, could this have anything to do with some interactions with Eric (Alexander SkarsgÄrd)? Once again we get to see Eric menacingly declare that "Sookie is mine" and could this be Eric who is chowing down on Sookie's neck at the end of the clip? It looks like Tara (Rutina Wesley) could also be subject to Eric's fangs, proving once again that she really has terrible luck in the vampire department. Sookie isn't the only Stackhouse who appears to be in some danger as we see that Jason (Ryan Kwanten) is tied to a bed and is taunting one of the werepanthers in to killing him. Kwanten in the second promo declares that there will be "a lot more blood, a lot more sex" and from these two promos it is clear that there will be an abundance of both.
